Singing Away the Depression

On Thursday January 10, the Advanced Placement (AP) U.S. History classes all performed Great Depression songs with original lyrics to popular tunes. After the performances, the classes voted for the best song award. As the performances drew near, the students began to prepare for their debuts.

“We’ll go later because we’ll just blow it out of the water anyway,” Kyle Shafer (10) said.

The winning group was Group D. Their song was entitled “Overproduction” and was to the tune of “Row Row Row Your Boat.” The line that is speculated by Andrew Krause (social studies teacher) to have won the award for them is “I robbed a bank to buy some rope/To end my life for me.”
