Dance team is working toward an important goal. This Thursday evening at 7:30p.m. is the annual Carnival Variety Show. The girls will perform two numbers at Carnival.

The first, “Jump, Swing, Fever,” opens the show with excitement. The song, played by the combined band and jazz band, features the eight senior dancers. Five of the girls enter the stage first, along with male dancing partners. They simply steal the show with their jump jivin’ swing moves. The rest of the song moves quickly and is energetic and entertaining.

The entire team dances to their second song, The Walk, by Imogen Heap. The dance team is comprised of 23 members, from freshmen to seniors. The girls practice every day and have been preparing this event for weeks. Earlier in the season, the team made it all the way to state finals, along with a solo by Genni Housman, and a duet by Sara and Chellie Zou.

The dance team seniors this year are Genni Housman, Megan Whitacre, Sara Zou, Chellie Zou, Emma Goop, Alyssa Lung, Teneen Zimmer, and Mikala Elsworth. Along with the support of the other girls, this team has done well and their accomplishment is evident in their performance.

With Carnival only a day away, the girls are busy practicing and preparing. If all goes well, the performance will be great and make the perfect end to a great season.
