This morning, Friday, May 11, was the annual Dollars for Scholars banquet. Seniors who participated in Dollars for Scholars this year did a number of activities to earn money for the program. In the fall, students sold raffle tickets and solicited pledges. This March, they participated in the Dollars for Scholars Phone-a-thon to get people to donate to the scholarship foundation. Today, they were recognized for their hard work.

Each student was paired with a sponsor who donated. The student and their guests sat with the sponsor and enjoyed a buffet breakfast of bacon, eggs, fruit, and various toasts. The presentation began at 7:00 a.m. and encompassed recognition of all the sponsors, people involved in the program, and a presentation showing each of the students who will receive the $500 dollar scholarship. Also recognized was Nick Yoder, the 2007 winner of the Lily scholarship.

Students received programs including the school everyone intends to go to, so hopefully this talented and hard working group of seniors will not lose touch with one another.
