In 1959, Hawaii became the 50th state to join the United States of America. Dwight D. Eisenhower was the president to sign the proclamation. He also ordered that there should be a new flag with 50 stars in staggered rows of 5 and 6. This became the offical flag on July 4, 1960.

Better bring your umbrellas or rain coats and galoshes to school tomorrow because there’s a 40% chance for precipitation with a high of 85 degrees and a low of 69 degrees. The wind will also be blowing at 10 mph to the southwest.
