On Friday, January 25, Tia Malcom shared about her experience in Camaroon, Africa. Malcom, a 2006 CHS alumni, traveled to Camaroon to work at a health clinic. She stayed with a doctor and his family for about three weeks. CHS’ AP Biology class gave Malcom various medical and children supplies during December.

“Tia showed how Concord High School students become involved in world affairs and showed direct applications of biology,” Stan Larimer (biology teacher) said. “Tia created this opportunity 100 percent herself.”

The class watched videos, such as the science lab in a Camaroon school (above) and viewed photos as Malcom explained her trip.

“There’s so much to talk about–I just covered the basic top issues,” Malcom said.
