Focus on finishing

Lee Melling (12) remembers losing to East Noble last year as like “that bad taste that sits in your mouth.” But after a 49-25 win last Friday against the Knights, the Minutemen have now experienced the sweet taste of victory.

“East Noble was a team that we had mark on the calendar to give back that beaten from last year,” Melling said. Melling stressed that the team goal for this year not just to finish but to finish big which they showed they could do against East Noble.

“We did good,” Melling said, “but we broke down every once in awhile and then fought right back through the rest of the game.” The team doesn’t want the victory to get to their heads; they recognize there is still work to be done. With Senior Night over it’s time to move on and show more about their new motto, “Finish.”

Tonight the Minutemen hope to finish on top against the Chargers and move their record to 2-0. Elkhart Memorial is also 1-0 after they defeated Elkhart Central.

At last year’s Concord vs. Elkhart game, Concord came out winning it 35-28. Look for a good game today at Elkhart 7:30 PM.
