Trenee Brownlee (9) set the tone for the Lady Minutemen on Tuesday night as CHS trounced South Bend Adams 56-38. Brownlee scored a team high, 18 points, as CHS moved to 8-11 overall on the season. With the loss, South Bend Adams fell to an abysmal 1-19.
The Eagles hung around with CHS for the first half, but in the end CHS simply overwhelmed Adams. The Lady Minuteman defense was able to force 27 turnovers while committing only 15 themselves, and the fourth quarter belonged to CHS, as they were able to double Adams, scoring 18-9. Early in that quarter it was apparent that the Eagles just didn’t have anything left in the tank, as the Lady Minutemen got more and more open looks at the basket. In the end, defensive lapses cost the Eagles.
Kim Swain (12) also helped lead the Lady Minutemen to victory as she scored 14 points while knocking down two three pointers. Khristian Hildreth (12) was able to chip in with 12 points and also pulled down eight rebounds. Lindsay Ogle (11) also added six points for CHS.
Jessica Hull (12) was the lone bright spot for South Bend Adams, scoring a game high, 20 points and came down with seven rebounds. The only other key contributor was Amani Morgan as she scored six points and had three assists.
The Lady Minutemen return to action on Friday to take on Northwood at McCuen Gym. Tip-off is set for 6:15.
