When we (me and my friends) were pondering the idea of what movie to watch at the movie theater the last movie I wanted to see was Yes Man, but unfortunately to my dismay we took a vote and Yes Man it was. I went into the theater with the mentality that it was just going to be another failed attempt at doing a comedy movie, but to my surprise it wasn’t all that bad. To sum up the movie it’s about Carl Allen (Jim Carey) who works as a junior loan approval officer and he is not very happy with his mediocre lifestyle. Until one day when one of his old friend from work Nick (John Higgins) appears out of nowhere and tells him about how great his life is now that he is enrolled in a program that basically has a “say yes to everything or else” policy. Carl decides to give it a try, and eventually it serves him well, it improves his lifestyle dramatically. The movie has its ups and downs, it is actually pretty funny at times, but it also has its fair share of boring scenes as well. Overall, I think the movie was a pretty good one; it was not a complete waste of time. I most definitely came out of the theater feeling better than when I came in, so it was a pleasant surprise not a “must see” by any means but it is a good one still. So in conclusion I give Yes Man a 3 out of 5 star rating.
