This week is National French Week. “The national French Week is supposed to promote the French language and culture and to make people curious about it,” French Club sponsor Mrs. Hobbs (world languages) said.

This year, CHS celebrates the twelfth annual National French Week, organized by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF). French week might not be as popular but “It’s a nationally recognized event,” Hobbs said.

AATF organizations, Alliance franchise branches and French departments all across the country will join this week in promoting French and helping people find interesting and entertaining ways of learning about the countries and millions of people who speak this beautiful language.

The French Club members are excited to participate in this event by making and selling French crêpes. “We talked about it since the beginning of the school year and now, this week, we are buying all the supplies and preparing for it,” Hobbs said.

Last year’s sale was a big success and the members of the French Club hope for the same, or even more success, for this year’s sale. They will serve Crêpes will different kinds of toppings, like Nutella, peanut butter, banana, sugar, and jelly.

The French Club will be selling crêpes in the CLR on Friday for the price of $1 and up.
